Testimonials will we see them again? 07:34 - Aug 15 with 442 viewsPippin1970

Maybe Wolfenden but don't think many clubs will now. Possibly in the lower leagues see some players go the course.

Did Luke Chambers get one ?… my interest in Ipswich was at all time low during that period that he may have done.

Poll: Is it an issue for you that the new England manager is foreign ?

Tom Eastman didn’t get one at Colchester after 400+ games in over ten years at the club.

Only if Keno wears his tight shorts.

They do seem a thing of the past

Poll: Do you think Pert is key to all of this?

I think now adays Testemonials are for lower league teams where players are not multi millionaires. Current trends seem to to let player's leave on a free transfer, so they can negotiate a signing on fee. As we have seen with Morsey & Harness

Feeling is these days that players are well looked after financially so no need.

I don’t think they’re even a thing for lower league teams. If Tom Eastman doesn’t get one, who does?) I think the problem is to attract glamorous enough opposition. Bigger clubs treat their pre-season friendlies far more scientifically these days.

I think it’s the really big clubs that do still have testimonials, with the profits going to a charity of the player’s choice.
