However - I don’t like Philogene and Clarke playing LW/L10. As much as I like them individually, I’m not quite sure why we signed them. They love to start on the touchline - occupying the natural Davis channel, limiting his passing options and basically get in his way. I did like Leif driving inside on Sunday, but that only really kicked in second half. The new left-hand side we’ve created is McKenna’s biggest challenge to McKennaball.

If they don't know whether Leif is driving inside or going wide (and vice versa for whoever he's paired with) then tracking him is going to create space for the other person. It's just getting the co-ordination right that will be important. Seemed to be working for the first half at Bromley and second half against Saints. Just need to get it right more often IMO.

Yes, Leif is definitely capable of both. I think we need to pick Philogene OR Clarke for that LW role, give them a proper run of games to build a relationship with Leif, and hopefully they can then coordinate like they were second half.

I like our formation and always have. on 16:50 - Aug 19 with 397 views | Chris_ITFC | Hadn’t actually seen that Davis was asked about it: “It was one that shocked me, to be fair, when I first came back for pre-season. The manager said that it would improve me as a player, playing more positions, instead of getting the ball on the touchline and crossing it in. It also helps out Jaden, who’s a very, very good one-v-one player, so if I’m in the middle, it leaves him one-v-one to get at full-backs. Ilike it in there. You get a lot of the ball, I can probably score and get on the end of more crosses in that area. That’s one thing that will take time. It doesn’t just happen overnight, me getting used to that position. It will take time.”

It's a little nerving We've had the best of Davis playing as Davis knows how to play and made the most of it we've seen the worst of Jack Clarke when KM tried to turn him into a player who plays different positions.......

He got into good positions in that 10 position but he is going to have to add some goalscoring skills to his game, particularly rifling the odd long shot he's occasionally going to get free and a chance to pull that trigger at times
