It might be only 3 games into the season and so too early to look at table 21:49 - Aug 23 with 527 viewsCopfordBlue

but I just have. We’re 7 points off of the top 2 already. I’ll get ridiculed for saying this with 43 games and 129 points to play for, but I don’t think we can’t afford to let that gap get into double figures. Clawing back a 10 point plus deficit gives little margin for error.

If it wasn't Stoke and Boro on 9 points, I'd be more concerned.

I agree but Leeds fans were saying that about us 2 years ago. As far as I can tell, they were never more than 9 points from the top 2 all season but after a shaky start couldn’t catch us (or they did but then couldn’t maintain it as all teams have dips).

Respectfully, this is the championship. No point looking at a league table until 10 games have gone.

Thanks for making my point for me. We need to make sure that in the next 7 games that gap does not get much bigger. If at the 10 game mark, we’re more than 10 points behind, automatic promotion will be almost out of reach.

That’s true but you’d want us to be on or very close to 20 points after 10 games. So after 3 gone and 2 points gained we want to be getting 6 wins from our next 7.

I’m sure if we do that folk will be a lot more settled but we do need results.

Hopefully we've had 10 shots on target by then.

I know that was then, but it could be again..

That’s the thing, crucial points are to be gained. Six wins from the next seven to keep on the two points per game average ?

Sadly at this ridiculously early stage a win next weekend ahead of the international break is looking rather important.
