i've no more idea than you. i don't know how the bbc decides which acts to screen and how the rights are then worked out. but i'm not using that lack of knowledge to push an agenda and i'm not going to swallow everything that some random tweeters claim.

Thinking about it and considering the issues with recent live broadcasts the BBC probably just had issues with his fashion choices.
