McKenna deserves all the criticism 13:10 - Aug 25 with 1897 views | FromReuserWithLove | he is getting right know. He's overseen a truly appalling spell over the last 12 months even after all the excuses throw at it. Simply has not been good enough and his reputation is taking a bit of a battering. Despite all of this, he is a genuine talent, a fabulous human-being and 100% still the only man for the job now and in the long-term imo. I wouldn't change him for anyone. That is all, thanks for reading.
McKenna deserves all the criticism on 13:14 - Aug 25 with 1814 views | LeoMuff | As a promoted side with a significant amount of players bought in league 1 the prem was always going to be incredibly tough and Leicester and Soton were just as bad. So really last season was a free hit for him for me, this season way too early to tell and there have been significant improvement since Birmingham.

not sure what you're referring to but he deserved all the praise he got for those two incredible back-to-back seasons. Best entertainment seen at PR in my lifetime.

We didn’t have hardly any players bought in league one.., we spent £150 million and had loans such as established England internationals and half the Championship team of the season from other clubs.., in fact as a measure, most games, we had very few players that ever kicked a ball in league one for us…, Muric, Johnson, O’Shea, Greaves, Philips, Jens. Clarke, Delap, Hutchinson, Philogene, Ogbenne etc etc When did they ever play for us in league one? The level of revisionism rather than process facts is genuinely sad. It’s exactly the behaviour that will go the other way .., because it’s 100% emotional, zero % fact. That group cost a fortune.., they just weren’t very good, or well enough coached and motivated. Not exclusively Mckanna fault, like the success wasn’t all on him either. Balance isn’t burying your head in the sand and whistling Dixie!!! 4 wins in 42 and an expensive group that actually aren’t a team and haven’t been for a year or more, with all that coaching time…., that’s instructive of the issues we face. Something something league one is a sad excuses, it’s pathetic seeing some supporters pretend we are a low rent third division side, just to protect their own ego. Rather that, than process you might be wrong? Little old third division Ipswich, where we’ve never been in our history!! We aren’t a low end third rate club, we never were. Develop some standards, and hold people accountable to them. The apathy and apologist narratives, all to protect your own ego, are toxic!

Here he is again. Being an elephantintheroom tribute act is not a good life ambition laddie, at least not on this board. You could try the Pink 'un, I suspect you would do quite well there.

Well we had Wolf, Burgess, Burns, Chaplin, Hirst, Leif, Morsy, Mass, Broady, Walton, Clarke, Ali that’s half a squad and all played games in the prem. If this is denial how come almost no sides promoted stay in the prem ? It’s clearly a very very difficult task and getting harder every year, any other view point is denial on your part - it doesn’t matter if you spend £1 or £150m.

Have you considered that there might be a reason that excludes us from buying a team of big, athletic, pacy players, who also have the technical ability to play in the PL?

There are a limited number of them and most are already playing for Prem or top overseas teams. Those few becoming available for hire in any given window are much in demand and fetch enormous fees (or there's something wrong with them).

Not necessary so ..look at Brighton. All the players they have found over the years for little money And has flourished and sold on for vast multiples .so don't give me that crap about limited players.

Brighton have sold six players for more than £25m*, all of them during the period since they became an established Prem club. Three of them were sold to Chelsea. One came through the Youth teams. The most expensive player they sold before they were at least four years into their current Prem run was Knockaert, for about £10m. They've had a few big hits, not exactly a vast stream of talent passing through. * According to Transfermarkt. Calcedo, Cucurella, Pedro, White MacAllister and Bissouma.
