Which of us has the strongest bladder? 19:14 - Aug 27 with 1243 viewsChris_ITFC

We could be a point off the play-offs with 1 game to go, and I’d still be McKenna in.

2 points off, and I’m wetting the bed.

Calm answers only - how far would you back him? Or what would make your bladder burst in the night? No blubbing at the current state of play here please - there’s enough threads elsewhere for those that wish to debate that.

Instant ban for the first to say: “This is the problem with our fanbase, they’re too soft.” etc.

If we aren’t fully in the playoffs pushing for top 2 they’ve failed this season.

I don’t know what that makes me, probably a bed wetter to some, possibly realistic to others.

Totally agree on it being a failure.

But I’d rather fail with McKenna (because I know that won’t last), than gamble on the next guy. That’s the measure of my patience/tolerance, which was more the point of the OP than success/failure.

Realistic I’d say.

Just 4 league wins in over a year…

Failure is already lasting a lot longer than most fanbases or owners would tolerate.

Bed wetting for me is how you deal with the setbacks, not how realistic or supportive you are.

You could be happy with mid table, we could be first and 5 points clear and lose a game against bottom 6 opposition and you come on here and act like a child and that would be bed wetting.

Alternatively you could think we should be top two, we could be mid table, and you don't come on hear crying, and instead talk about the whys and what nexts calmly.

Essentially bed wetting is an opposite of resilience, not a measure of where we are in relation to your expectations.

I'm on the fence with KMK. There is no doubt that he did a terrific job in the two promotion seasons, especially the Championship season. With the backing and budget he had in League One, promotion was the bare minimum.

This season is crucial, the test of a truly great manager is turning around a side when confidence is low. Momentum carried us such a long way, now we have lost it, if anything we are spiralling downward. At the moment I'm jury out.

I'm living in Durham these days and a few Sunderland fans have compared KMK to Roy Keane's time managing them. The upwards curve was fantastic, when things went wrong he was unable to stop the rot and turn it around.
