Rumbelows Sprint Challenge participant 14:45 - Sep 11 with 560 views | stuvon5000 | Hi all. My name is Stuart Steelyard, and I’m writing a book for Pitch Publishing on the Rumbelows League Cup era (1990–92). One of the most unique features was the Rumbelows Sprint Challenge — where players from every club raced for the title of fastest footballer in the league. But I could do with your help. I’ve managed to nail down almost all of the 93 entrants, but I’m missing the player who represented Ipswich Town. They ran in the Central East heats on Thursday November 14th 1991 at Molineux. Unfortunately there’s no Saint & Greavsie archive footage of the heat they were in. Ive heard rumours that it might have been Phil Whelan or Chris Kiwomya - but I have no further proof that this was the case. If anyone remembers who ran for The Tractor Boys, or has a programme/newspaper cutting from late ‘91 that mentions it, I’d love to hear from you It’ll help me complete the full list for the book — and you’ll be credited for your help! Thanks so much for your time. Best regards, Stuart [Post edited 11 Sep 14:50]

He ran the 100 metres in 10.9 seconds on Superstars in 1975 which was an Olympic qualifying time. Ron Pickering reckoned with training he could have brought that down to 10.5 seconds. https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/news/history/newcastle-united-striker-malcolm-ma [Post edited 11 Sep 17:35]
