An away point to a team that is doing well early in the season is always a positive, and achieved when not putting out our strongest 11 as starters. Even if it wasn't a great performance, it is a valuable point.

It does need to be backed up with a solid performance on Sunday. It is likely that we can start with our strongest 11 fully refreshed, and there is no evidence of anyone picking up a knock last night. Those are both big positives for Sunday.

If we win on Sunday, last night will quickly be seen for what it was - a necessary game, with an OK result, for what will be a long, hard season. It will be 10 points from 12 (or 11 from 15 - both automatic promotion form), a game in hand on everyone around us, AND, whether you want to accept it or not, an albatross around our neck removed.

What's not to like - if Sunday goes well.

Quite agree with you. Problem is its going to be a very big IF isn't it.

6 more changes Sunday then to return to that winning "team"!

So what you saying is ,we don't really need the 3 points last night ,just put out our second string and see how it goes. And if we get the win ,it's a bonus..the 3 points nxt Sunday is far more important....?? I thought when a manager realises we playing against a good team High up in the table, he will put out our strongest,

I think the manager realised that we were going to play 3 games in little more than a week, so he decided to rotate the squad and bring in some fresh legs. Whether or not 6 changes was the correct call is open to debate, however as far as I can make out, no-one is suggesting that he should have played the same starting 11 as against Portsmouth. Or put another way, if he had done so and had we had a similar performance and result, then people would have questioned, quite rightly, why we have a large squad but don't use them.

We are over analyzing it really.

Result = Decent enough.

Performance = Average at best.

The performance is probably causing more alarm after other away games so far this season but also has caveats of a lot of rotation.

The end.
