It was a diabolical free kick and he'd decided he was shooting despite the ball getting moved. But you know what...love his confidence.
He's going to go places. Looks a class act but one who will be learning every game and let's not put too much pressure on him.
Really annoyed that Furlong pulled rank and then put a diabolical wafted long cross in few mins later. A lesson for Egeli but let the kid take it, wand of a foot on him! He wasn't going to shoot from that one!!
He's got that effortless way about how he manipulates the ball. Understand he's not too much yet but you can see why he's been scouted by so many clubs.

I saw him quite close up on Sat from the West Stand first half. He’s everything you say he is. Good control, boy can he pass a ball, good vision, up for a scrap, strong and brave. Enormous potential.
He’s very young though and has a heck of a lot to learn. He’s also has to get up to the pace of the English game. I’d play him as much as possible and think that if McKenna does, he will soon be one of our better players.. |  | | |

I think it was 100% a shot. Before he hit it I was convinced he was having shot how he was looking at it. Then it moved and thought surely not. He smashed it.
He has form. His stats show him hitting a hell of a lot of shots per game and does like to hit shots from all over the shot with free kicks etc.
He does score some though!

He couldn't ask for a better man to coach him than McKenna. Look at what he did with Omari.

Yes we are going to have to live with some frustrations and learning with him. He does have a maturity about him stylistically but he's a confident boy and he will make some bad choices on the pitch.
I do think McKenna might use him more at home and also against the weaker sides initially. Probably get a bit of the Omari treatment where he is dropped/rested when not doing the dirty stuff. Hopefully he flourishes in the same way.
One thing we need to be mindful of is that he's a different type of player. He's got a trick to beat and man and get a cross in. But he isn't a jinking winger. Clever player, touch vision and a killer shot/pass on him. | |

I'm ever so sorry to ask/say this, but was that confidence, or stupidity?
nothing about that decision said to me "this kid is confident"
It was such a wasted opportunity, in the closing moments of the game. His role when coming on was (at a guess) create something to help us win the game. And in his only attacking moment, he opted to do that. Found it rather disappointing if I'm honest. |  | | |
