Leicester PSR case to begin 08:03 - Oct 2 with 970 viewsSheffordBlue

Leicester's PSR case to begin in the next few days - decision not likely until the New Year.
This is the case being brought by the Prem and the EFL case could follow depending on what happens.

Hmmm....did they not learn their lesson last time? Didn't Leicester wriggle out of punishment before, as the Prem tried to punish them when they were officially a EFL team? Wouldn't it make more sense for the EFL to go after them first, then the Prem?

No - there were as a specific process to change the rules around that situation and to allow leagues to charge teams when they have moved between leagues.

I think the two organisations have been quite careful in ensuring that they are co-ordinated on this.

That loophole has been closed and they can't use it anymore. The Prem and EFL have also agreed to implement punishments dealt out by the other body.

This second tier episode has an expert on it which covers it very well:

Thanks both! Hopefully, that means Leicester will finally get what's been coming to them for a few years now then. I'm still not convinced that their lawyers won't find some other "loophole" to squirm out of the grasp again, though.

The expert on the second tier actually thought their punishment might be more severe as they have annoyed many officials who decide these things but continually looking for loopholes.

He even thought they might get two punishments.

Let's hope so.
