It’s a foul imo. Hirst was unlucky in that Darling was clever. A lot of CB’s would get themselves in a mess there, but he just managed to get himself between Hirst and the ball. I agree corners are a law unto themselves. It’s certainly not consistent.

Of course, it’s a battle of who’s strongest and can then ‘sell’ the foul. CBs and CFs are always grappling. It was a bit soft, but they’re almost always given. The same way anyone feels contact and goes down they get themselves free kick (like Leif there). You just have to get in between your man and the ball. | |
