Well done Mark Ashton 12:25 - Oct 6 with 1310 views | CopfordBlue | For realising as soon as KM said he wanted Nunez that signing him would be so much more than acquiring a talented footballer who’d add quality to the squad. There would have been a premium paid to sign him from them and the potential for it to backfire. It was a brave signing and yesterday it paid off perfectly. The programme cover, songs, his performance and post-match celebrations was just what was needed to knock them off their perch and show how their “16 years” boast counts for nothing . Their fans seem utterly dejected and defeated. Yesterday was so much more than a long overdue victory and a lot of that is down to the Nunez signing. [Post edited 6 Oct 12:29]

I’d take that with a huge pinch of salt. Clubs don’t go in blind with offers. They speak to agents and representatives first. We may have paid a bit more than any other club would have had to but there’s no way we paid multiples of what they would have sold him for. Right now, even if he never kicks a ball for us again, whatever we paid seems good value just for the enjoyment of yesterday .

Yeah it did sound a little fanciful. The ITKer has an axe to grind (mostly anti Ashton) but does seem to have some inside info.

Sounds the sort of thing a Norwich fan would make up.

ITK at NCFC? I doubt that sort of info would be known at ITFC.

On that Norwich podcast one of the Reeve sisters said we were the only club in for him.

Yesterday was worth the extra fee if that was the case. That lofted through ball for Azon was priceless. Very surprised if they were indeed willing to accept 4 million for their best midfielder.
