Leicester points deduction 10:58 - Oct 14 with 2388 viewsSchancheITFC

Reading through the Leicester City forums, it does look more likely they will get a points deduction, 9 points, maybe more.

Yes but when will we all know ?
These things take far too long to be resolved.

Any idea when that might happen...?

They should get a further deduction for having Fatawu...
He is definitely a cheat code at this level.

The case being made by the Prem is due to start imminently (potentially even this week) with a decision expected in the new year. The EFL will then decide whether they want to proceed with their own case.

Agree it would/should have been done earlier but I think in this instance the relevant organisations want to make sure that all due process is followed so that there aren't any loopholes that can be exploited.

I doubt it. If they do, the scale will depend on where they are. If challenging for promotion it’ll be a little fine £2.50 and a mint aero. Mid table without a chance of promotion or relegation - 6 point deduction. Near the bottom. A fine and a telling off.

Leicester are too important to punish and have owners that will bite back. Serious punishments are for little clubs like Swindon that don’t matter.

Am I being cynical? Certainly am but the week and weedy blazers that allegedly run the game (haha) have a track record on this stuff so it’s hardly surprising that the bigger the club, the more the so called rules are ignored.

I think you vastly overestimate the importance of Leicester in the football food chain.

I think the poster also underestimates the extent to which both the PL and EFL were pissed off by Leicester wriggling out of being dealt with on a technicality last time.

A lot of the PSR heavyweights like Kieran Maguire think they are looking at a fairly hefty points deduction.

I think if they’d have been unimportant or had owners that were not powerful, they’d already have been held to account and punished. They are not as invulnerable as the Man City’s obviously, but they are or were important.

They won the Premier League a few years ago. Hammer them and you hammer ‘the premier league product’.

Guesswork and circumstantial evidence? Totally.

The fact the bookies have them as 7th favourites to win the Championship should tell you something (currently 4/1, same as West Brom)

..and about time too. Letting cheats get away with is a national pastime which needs stamping out just as much as fly-tipping and Strictly Come Dancing.
