Asked a couple of neutral friends for their verdict.

Seems as if could've gone either way, game decided on missed pen/own goal.

Then I read comments on here, Facebook and X/twitter.

It was end to end and fairly even until those moments went the wrong way for us (missed pen, comedy own goal). Then we never really looked like getting back in it. It could easily have gone the other way though. Or rather it was there to be won. Boro made the best of their moments and then took control and saw it out. They’re a reasonable side, but it’s looking like a weak league this year. Nobody’s shown the dominant control and solidness Burnley had last year for example.

but thats a good thing, because it means you only have to string a bit of form together and still be right in it, ie its classic championship season, everyone is beatable.

if we'd won that game, we'd have gone 3rd with a game in hand still. so I cant believe the amount flouncing, well I can because some of our so called fans are about as realistic as some of the AI dirge that passes muster thesedays as art.

people just need to take a step back and look at the bigger picture of things. be disappointed sure when we lose, but we're in alot better place than I think some realise.

I look at Sheff Wed and think that could have been us had Evans still been in control, never forget what it was like even only 3-4 years ago, thats the blink of an eye in football,and then consider where we are now.
