You’d think of those on the pitch, Davis, Cajuste or Szmodics would have been good alternatives.

Hirst isn’t a good penalty taker. Even the one he scored at Birmingham wasn’t particularly well placed.
Keepers do a lot of research nowadays and if your body shape is readable and your execution isn’t perfect, then it’s very saveable.
Of course Hirst is allowed to miss one from time to time and I understand he’s a striker so this is an easy route to goals.
But I wouldn’t let him take another.
Unfortunately his ‘It’s what I do’ comment hasn’t helped him.
I thought his touch was generally better last night but his confidence doesn’t look great.
