I doubt very much that if 21:50 - Oct 21 with 852 viewsskankerman

Burns
Chaplin
Burgess
Woolfenden

And dare I say Morsy were all playing tonight

Would be losing 3-0 at home to a very average championship team

Lack of hunger unfortunately

Hopefully this can be addressed very soon

I still rate Kieran it’s just not clicking at the moment

Lack of desire and hunger is the nail on the head. Last time we were in the Championship it was the pinnacle for some of our players and they wanted to show what they could do. Now we have some players that seem to think the Championship is beneath them.

I think you're spot on, we've lost so many players who would give everything for this club. None of the current team give a toss. We now have a team of supremely talented individuals who can't or won't play together, Nunez waving that flag around summed it up, next season he'll be doing that at another club.

Our defence tonight looked like they were waving a different flag...a white one

It's recency bias.
Remember when most of those players were in the team when we lost in almost exactly the same fashion to Maidstone? Or to Wycombe at home? Or Lincoln?

The way we play football - these results do happen. You will not always get it right, and they will get it exactly right.

Trouble is these results and hunger to play for Ipswich are happening to often

Not really. Maidstone would've been the last result like this.

All very well banging the drum for Burns, Chaplin, Burgess, Wolfenden but ultimately the Americans want us to be in the Premier league and stay there. We loved them however they weren't premier league players. So we're trying again with 11 more who sadly you couldn't say with any confidence would be good enough at the next level either. Big player churn but really no further forward. If we did somehow get promoted from here it's another starting 11 in to give us a chance of staying in the prem isn't it. Or we sack it off, stay down with this bunch, beat Norwich at Harrow road, do what we never do and have a good cup run, have faith and keep this squad together and try with a stable squad again next season.

There’s certainly a lot of that going on. Players get better in people’s heads the longer they’ve been absent, even just when they’re injured. I can clearly remember being frustrated by our inability to break down low blocks in L1 and the Championship. I remember Chappers going missing sometimes for whole games. Broady would go missing. I remember Wes getting hammered for being too weak defensively and needing several sighters before he’d get a shot on target. We’d have brain farts at the back and our defence was always criticised for being too open.

The difference is that over time those players became to believe they were unbeatable. We’d not panic and keep going until the 97th minute if we had to. They also produced moments of magic when it all clicked, be that individually making the right decisions and executing perfectly or together as a team. Individual brilliance of Philogene aside, we’re not getting those key moments right at the moment. Players are making wrong decisions and then when we do go behind we struggle to get going again, although we have salvaged a couple of draws in fairness. We were salvaging wins in 23/24, which is a big difference.

Poll: Do you think Pert is key to all of this?

The difference is they were bought for peanuts, they were not 8, 10, 12, 15, 20 Million pound players, unlike these wallies we have now. Chalk & Cheese.

Whilst you're probably right, as has ben pointed out we could play the same game over again several times and the result would probably be better, it was just one of those where everything falls apart and nothing went right. Hopefully an anomaly.
