By 11pm, I was already thinking about McK out and Morsy being installed as player manager. But I dismissed such a crazy notion very quickly.
We haven't had a defensive masterclass (sorry, sh** show) like that since McK arrived, so hopefully that was a one-off.
Without going over old ground, I was hoping that by now this season we'd be showing more than just mere glimpses of being more than a collective of talented individuals.
We look good for short periods but lack a killer instinct.
What also lack leaders on the pitch. Which is particularly noticeable when we concede.
What I can't stand from last night and the Boro game, however, is this lack of urgency when we go behind and time is running out.
Players should be shouting at eachother, willing eachother on, giving bollo**ings where necessary.
There's just no fight, just acceptancy.
Yes, there are fires all over the pitch which need urgent attention. And some transfers haven't worked.
But in McK I trust...for now.

Some people said it was like 2002/3 under Burley.... on 16:34 - Oct 22 with 457 viewsMarshalls_Mullet

....but it also reminds me of League 1 under Paul Cook.

Poll: Would Lambert have acheived better results than Cook if given the same resources

I would consider him back in the training pitch now and resign in January then our midfield would be super strong and a born leader to get out of these McKenna mess,
And it is a fecking mess,

Morsy, Chappers and Burgess all leaders who would be very vociferous when required.
