Count me in! Makes things happen & looks so confident in front of goal. Be interesting to see him up front! He can be the new Hutchinson!

Do we think that's why he cups his hands to his ears every time he scores - still having a go at the boo boys?

I think he did it at Sunderland, too. He's just wanting to hype everyone up. Like a, "get tf in there, let's hear ya"

I started singing Yorkshire Ronaldinho in the shower this morning and can't get it out of my head!

First game of the Season in 23/24 I went up to Sunderland away and I had heard that Jack Clarke was one to watch, and he was superb. I started wondering then, if we did somehow go up again, could he be one we'd look to prise away?

Obviously, we did eventually win promotion and I spent the whole transfer window thinking, we need a winger, let's go and get Clarke from Sunderland, but being honest I didn't think he'd move here.

Towards the end of the window obviously the talks started and he ends up joining and I was so chuffed, but obviously the season didn't go as we hoped and JC didn't get going in the way we all wanted, but the people on his back made me want him to succeed even more. I'm really glad he's now shining and the fans are behind him. Him and Philogene epitomise the way a bit of confidence can help a player out, and demonstrate why we need to be behind the team and not slagging them off and making memes out of them and booing from the stands.

Love that story - and the song! It’s a cracker once you get the hang of it.

I think the secret with Clarke, and to a lesser extent Philogene (plus ALL new signings), is adaptation.

We bought him, then basically played him in a radically different way to what he was used to. He definitely got more natural at it as last season went on, but we’ve also adapted to him - he receives the ball wide much more often now. He’s getting much better, and still has room to reach his best, which is even more exciting.

Keep being impressed by Jack’s interviews since Saturday. All toys firmly within the pram and pushing hard in the right direction.

“[Me and Jaden] both want to play games and everybody in the dressing room wants to be playing as many games as possible.

“When you’ve got someone of Jaden’s talent within the squad, when he’s playing you want him to do well and he has been doing really well.

“It’s not a bitter pill to swallow, you want the team that’s playing to do the best they can and Jaden’s been playing really well.”

Clarke: Jaden's Been Playing Really Well 28th Oct 2025 10:30
Jack Clarke says he understands the stiff competition he faces from fellow left winger Jaden Philogene for a starting role in the Town side. 14

Always been a fan but what has surprised me most is that for such a spindly legged long shorted fella who looks like the breeze will knock him over - he wins a fair amount of tackles and turnovers in dangerous positions ( ref our 2nd goal on Saturday)

Not sure if that was always the case at Sunderland, or something McKenna has introduced into his game.

Yeah, always been a trier. I’m sure that’s part of why we signed him, aside from just being the next best thing to Philogene (at that time).
