| Chelmsford have a great chance of getting to the 3rd round of the Cup 22:09 - Nov 3 with 578 views | Miaow | And the last time they did... was against us, in 1973. They're at home to Weston-super-Mare (2nd in the National League South) in the second round. Chelmsford are currently in the bottom half, so looks like a tough fixture, but still a really good opportunity to get through and get a big tie. | |

I remember the Harper cracker of a goal - I just saw it on youtube, my memory was that it was Peter Morris at the far end but it wasn't! Memories!

That's right, the old ground had a park between it and the train station. A river too. Moved now though. When I was at sixth form all our parties were under the stand in the social club, usually about 80, mostly 17 year olds, drunk, going mental dancing to Come On Eileen! One of those party goers, Spencer Gore (@SJGORE), who was in my year at school apparently has fond memories too, bought the club and wants to do a Wrexham, I hope he does it. Last time I saw him I was 18 and gave him a lift home from Chelmsford as I was driving and he and his pals were hammered and carless. They bullied me into taking them to McDonalds at Boreham and then left spilt onion and lettuce in the back seat of my car from their big macs. I forgive him though and follow Chelmsford's latest journey; an away fixture at Ipswich in the 3rd ground would be fun
