Gilson Lavis RIP 17:26 - Nov 7 with 647 viewsWhos_blue

Just seen the very sad news that drummer Gilson Lavis has died.

BBC News - Squeeze drummer Gilson Lavis dies aged 74

A long time drummer for Jools Holland and Squeeze before that, he hung up his drum sticks last year.
I'd seen him play several times and he was a great drummer.
Both Gilson and Clem going this year has seen two drumming legends leave us.

Here's Gilson doing his thing.

Bloody hell. Jools Holland sent a message last week saying that Gilson was retiring.

R.I.P.

Hey now, hey now, don't dream it's over

That's a shame, he was a fantastic drummer, saw him with Squeeze and Jools Holland a few times!

A real drummer. Saw Squeeze bsack in the day, not with Jules unfortunately, but have seen The Rythum and Blues orchestra a few times. I remember Ken Bruce interviewing Jules and mentioning that Gilson had drummed with hin “ since God was a boy”
