Attacks on mosques have risen sharply between July and October, the period just before and after the "Raise the Colours" flag campaign and the "Unite the Kingdom" march.
I will be the first to say that correlation doesn't always imply causation but as the article points out, the temporal correlation of the events is something worth considering.
It was also noted that in 40% of incidents British or English flags or Christian symbols were involved.
This is also a worry:

See other thread - a big concern of mine is the rise fascism and with it intolerance, bigotry and ignorance.
Spent a little time in Munich recently. Did the National Socialist tour and a tour of Adolf’s mountain retreat at Berchtesgaden. It was fascinating but scary at how easily a whole country can fall into madness like that.
Younger Germans of today want to know about their history now, warts n all. Rightly so and we’d do well to learn from it too.
