Lunchtime question 12:17 - Nov 22 with 785 viewsThe_Major

Apparently we've only ever played Wrexham once before - the Micky Hazard FA Cup fiasco thirty years ago.

At first, that doesn't sound right, but I guess even in the old days they would have been in D3 North, but I'm surprised we haven't crossed paths in the cups previous to that game.

And that's got me thinking, are there now any league teams that we have never faced in a competitive match? I mean, take ones that have only been in the league two or three seasons like Harrogate or Salford out of the equation, and who do we have?

Ha, you fell for my deliberate mistake - yes, that's it... (laughs nervously)

I think there are a handful of Northern based lower league teams we haven’t faced in a league fixture such as Chesterfield but not many clubs.
Stevenage is one of the only Southern based ones yet we seemed to play them every other year in the league cup

I was there that day and trying not to believe it was 30 years ago and that I’m an old bastard.

Believe so. Although my memory isn’t what it used to be. Is it 30 years ? Wow. Makes me feel so old.

Current league clubs we've never played in any competition are Barnet, Harrogate Town and Salford City. In the league, we've never played Barrow, Bromley, Crawley Town, Chesterfield and Stevenage.

So Chesterfield the only ones who have been in a long time. Paul Cook / Dobra reunion overdue?
