| Worst summer signing 22:17 - Nov 22 with 1257 views | ringwoodblue | Has to be Akpom for me. He just isn’t working out and looks as though Brum had a lucky escape when we signed him under their nose. We desperately need another goalscorer whether that be a 9 or a 10 in Jan. | |

| Worst summer signing on 22:30 - Nov 22 with 1201 views | badadski | McAteer - 12m was laughable even if he had ripped it up for the previous team he played for - he didn’t - he was a bench warmer and got the goals because was playing for a team that dominated against others - I don’t see anything in him that warrants anything close to a couple of million let alone 12 - he looks worse then Jayden Jackson and looks like one of those players that had a good game in the park once and got picked up on the back of it. He doesn’t fit in with anything what we needed when signing him, he’s not quick, he’s not skilful, he can’t beat a man and he definitely can’t finish. Blame our recruitment on this and on many other signings this season as it is contrary to every thing that was being shouted from the roof tops - we lack pace and physicality. There is no dynaminism, no patterns, no off the ball movement, no triangles, no give and go. We look so static it’s unreal. If it wasn’t for other teams respecting the value of put team so much and playing 11 behind th ball I really do think more teams would be pulling a Charlton on us. It’s worrying but reassuring what we are playing boring, England of old, attritional football but still are only a few points from the top. We need 2-3 new players in the mould of what we stated from the start, physical and quick. | | | |

I hope McAteer comes good, but £12m (if it was that much) was a huge fee to spend on him considering how he had played and how he wasn't selected for the Ireland squad last time (when Ogbene was in the squad and starting). Akpom is a loan, and I think we have to pay £8m only if we go up this season.
| Worst summer signing on 23:38 - Nov 22 with 976 views | sundayroast | In the real world people have quarterly reviews at work, I’d love to hear what the owners think of the players their money has gone on. The only one you’d say has been an instant hit is Azor. Maybe Kipre. The rest have be a let down so far | | | |

You’re entitled to your opinion, but that seems ridiculously harsh. For one ( and imo there are others), Matusiwa was in incredibly signing. There were others to, but that just my uninformed opinion.

Walle Egeli is showing signs of being a very good player. And I think it’s harsh to judge him at the moment. And Nunez was a good signing too. Even just for the lols. [Post edited 23 Nov 10:12]

I read somewhere the fee was “only” 7.5million but even that seems absurdly inflated.

You can’t judge all signings in the same way. Egeli is very young and new to English football and the Championship so is more of a long term development and investment. Akpom on the other hand was brought in as an experienced Championship player to get us goals and he has failed to do that so far. Unlike other teams in the Championship, we only have three recognised centre forwards (some have four or more) and two of ours can’t hit a barn door and the other is hit and miss which should be a major concern for McKenna. | Worst summer signing on 08:45 - Nov 23 with 398 views | TractorJack | I thought he was showing good signs of improvement up until yesterday. I know he didn't have a pre season but I don't see how that can be an excuse at this point. He's clearly got ability but the sharpness just isn't there at the moment.
