Well I think its right McKenna takes the can if someone is going to be fired. Hes been given the backing financially to put together a promotion winning team. If we fall short, its on him.
I figure he will get the season. While McKenna seems to be failing, we are only just outside the promotion places so the disruption of getting in a fire fighter (plus paying off McKenna) seems a bad idea right now.

I gather there was a specific La Liga team they were interested in but that's not happening for whatever reason, but they're looking for an alternative.
Real Madrid?

Yes, but getting to - and staying in - the PL is very difficult. The £350m value put on Town by the recent transaction reflects a lot of hope that this will be achieved. I'm not surprised that the Arizona Pension fund are scaling back - they will have done spectacularly well from their risk capital investment. Town are probably better off being owned by a US consortium rather than one rich, mad investor (see Marcus Evans & too many others to mention) but it will be interesting to see how the owners feel if we fail to get promoted this season. My guess is that Ashton will shift all the blame onto McKenna & the latter will be fired.
It is. As I say, the £350m was a speculative figure in Brett Johnson's email shot in the summer and the deal is actually worth a fair bit more than that. Pension fund will I'm sure have made more than they ever thought they would from Town already with a considerable stake remaining in the club. Will be interesting to see where fingers are pointed at the end of the season if it doesn't go to plan.

Well, Ashton is running the club so it's not hard to see where the blame will be transferred.

So, what's the plan then ? To get us to a certain financial state then sell on a vast profit, or continue to run it as a football club first and foremost and establish ourseleves as a truly medium to (small) largish PL club? What actually makes a club "large" anyway ? Im mean what do the owners perceive to be our achievable ceiling both as a football club and say stock market value, if ever floated?
