That second half performance. Sitting, defending lowish and counter attacking.
It was difficult for Cov to break down and showed nice versatility from KM to tweak the tactics. Really good use of subs today.
First half, I thought both teams weren't great, canceling each other out somewhat. With Cov having the better chances.
What a difference....not making sloppy mistakes and taking your chances does?
Second half, we played with a bit of confidence and belief

Couldn't have ended better with Azon getting a decent goal when he's likely to start against Stoke now Hirst is suspended.

It was a great team performance - weird thing is I think Coventry gave us too much respect - unlike Oxford and Blackburn who are on to us like a rash from the off and we’re really closing us down from the front, the Coventry frontline were not - they hung back and were allowing us time on the ball at the back which I found weird considering the last 2 teams success. Oh well, nice for another team to be complacent for once. It’s a good win as gives the lads some confidence of which many of them had their best games in a blue top, kipre, Nunez, Taylor, O’Shea, Davis, furlong, hell the whole team were great to the man. Even clarkes cameo when he came on was lovely to see, tracking back, talking the ball through mid field on a couple of occasions and the play to set up azon was quality, |  | | |

They certainly weren’t clinical. Maybe the over performing xg will start to even out now.
Thought we managed them really well in the second half, first time I’ve seen us play in a long time and not being a bag of nerves, we really didn’t look like conceding second half. Excellent stuff all round. Great to see some aggressive tackling and pressing from us. | | | |

Briefly….
They started well and looked like the home team for 30 mins, then we got a foothold for last 15 etc
Second half I didn’t think they looked particularly special at all.
Found out? Maybe. Let’s hope.
I do think the top 4 will look very different in a month or two, with Soton coming through. Poss Leicester too. Coventry should not get comfortable as the chase is now on. |  |
