Turned into a good performance the longer the game went on 06:52 - Dec 7 with 461 viewsmuccletonjoe

I am not going to say the first half hour or so was great but we definitely took the game to them after that. There was pace , movement , we got our shots away, balls into the box , caused problems , had them on the back foot.
All to be admired, against a team sitting comfortably ahead of the rest in the division. It should now give us the confidence to do this against every team we play , whether they adopt a low block or come out and attack us. Let's hope we don't see the reticent tippy tappy football of the past couple of games. The players have proven once and for all, in my view, that they are capable of so much more and watching them struggle against inferior opposition is more frustrating than any of us thought.

I thought the game hinged on two things, Waltons excellent save at 0-0 when he pushed the ball onto the post and our goal just before half time.

The game could have gone either way before that.

I thought first 30 minutes was ok. A bit cagey but we were definitely playing at a better tempo. Waltons tip onto the post wax brilliant because he didn’t have a good view of the shot, but apart from that I didn’t think we were that threatened. We weren’t particularly threatening either it has to be said.

I thought the first half was two teams probing. I disagree with those fans who thought Cov were dominating, dominating was Charlton in the 2nd half a few weeks ago. Yes Walton had to make a save, but that happens in football.
They never really opened us up, although it seems they had a couple of key injuries yesterday.

2nd half if we had scored 4 or 5 Coventry couldn't complain. Hirst had a run on the GK before he scored, Cajuste created 2 chances, both times Cov lucky we didn't score.
