and our game management un the final 15 minutes was superb. Didn't feel like it at the time and conceding that last minute corner gave me a buttock clenching moment . But watching it back with the benefit of hindsight and we were very comfortable in possession. Some good partnerships forming throughout the team. We seem to have upped the tempo, & are moving the ball quicker on the counter, in recent games. This should help in trying to break down the low block sides too; playing nice possession football is all well & good, but swift passing & good movement will be key to winning the more attritonal games. | |

They had an xG of 0.01 in the second half last night which I think nicely highlights how comfortable we were.
It might not have been the most exciting performance but being able to keep a clean sheet and win games 1-0 is a good habit to be in. I think being really strong defensively is arguably going to be more important than being really fluent in an attacking sense over the remainder of the season. | | | |
