| Is there any obvious reason for the drop off from Hirst? 17:01 - Dec 13 with 3066 views | Matt_Netherlands | Disclaimer: This isn’t a post to slate him (there’s enough of those), but what’s behind his performances this season? His first touch in particular has gone through the floor. Didn’t seem to have a major injury over the summer? Not really being asked to play a different way? Being on international duty messing with his rhythm? Got a bit full of himself (See Birmingham away) It’s pretty baffling but he barely even looks like an average championship striker this season. | | | | |

| Is there any obvious reason for the drop off from Hirst? on 08:51 - Dec 14 by cbower | Agree with this. Additionally, he just doesn't attack crosses when they come in. If it's right on his head, then fine but his movement in the box is generally poor. |
Yeah someone made a good point further up about attacking the front post. Delap used to bust a gut to get across the first man and attack the ball… see goals at Brentford and Villa away as secrecy examples. Hirst never does that but equally, I can’t remember many of those balls coming in this year, of good enough quality? McAteer has tried a couple but they’ve never been accurate enough. Obviously Hirst and Delap are quite different players, but similar enough to attack the ball in that sort of way given their physical similarities. | | | |

| Is there any obvious reason for the drop off from Hirst? on 10:49 - Dec 14 with 185 views | tractorshark | Hirst was very poor yesterday. Touch was dreadful, movement was predictable and minimal… However, he got no service from the others. How many times did he take up a position in the box and the cross inexplicably never came in or hit the first defender. Davis’ crossing was terrible yesterday. Clarke and Philogene weren’t much better either. | | | |
