Sympathy for Wednesday manager, difficult situation looking from outside. Each situation has different challenges. Mix of players, some who have been around in the Champ for some time, some promising youngsters, know some from Man United. Will give them full respect.

Consistency comes from time together, you become more consistent, relationships become more smooth, and we're seeing that on the pitch. Consistent in attack and at back. Am seeing that. Consistency isn't winning every game, but winning when playing well and also winning when not playing well or things go against us, such as last week, that's what we need to do more. In the past we've done that, that's another step for us. That's a matter of time. Doesn't happen automatically, if you do the right things, take lessons in right way. That was what success was built on. We're still working towards that. In phase where if we win we're on track, if we lose, we're off. Since September, only Coventry have taken more points, so not too far away, but also not had the six, seven-game run which can catapult you. Aim is to have a run like that. Can only do that by taking it a game at a time, not taking poor results into the next week. A lot of different bits to it. We want to be consistent, want to be relentless. Know there are situations we need to get better at getting results from. I know more to come from us.

Collection of individuals rather than a team? I've said before, comparing with last team, we did something remarkable. I see a group of players who have outrun the opposition, created more chances than the opposition in most games. Can we still improve in chemistry, resilience? We can, but that's more natural for a group that's not been together that long. Any team which has been through promotions etc is going to be more together than a group which came together a few months ago. But I see a group working hard, looking back isn't much use at the moment. Need to stay really focused and that's how we build it.

Wednesday a team which can play in different ways. At Leicester on opening day had more possession, same against Southampton, so can give problems in that way. Have lost goals and games in that way. Have defended in other games and got points. We've won games by the greatest margins against teams who have been more open against is. But look at world football, that's always the case and in our situation more likely to be so. Need to be able to win open games and when teams shut up shop. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

January business: Activity can mean different things, all clubs will have ins and outs. My mind hasn't been on that, been in meetings and have given input, but have players who haven't played more than a handful of games, Wes is still to come back. My focus is on how to get the best out of them. January windows, things can change late. Still five games before then and a lot can change, injuries, someone can do really well, other players could be in different form. Club looking at all possibilities. My focus on group we have here.

Much of the first choice XI have been here a considerable amount of time. Yes, some new additions. But lets not pretend its not the same for every club.

palmer/kipre/furlong/matusiwa/egeli/nunez/jaden all less than a year, 5 came in in the summer. compare that to our last promotion season, 7 had been here longer than a year at this stage, only one (hutch) in the summer

We are in no different position to any other side in the Champ. (Well, we are in a much stronger one to be fair.... £40m of creative / attacking talent in your list). Its a false narrative. No more excuses. Thanks.

nonsense, it takes time, it did last time too. coventry have been together, playing and winning most weeks for a while now, 5 of our 11 have been here <5months and another 2 have been playing in a very different way against yer liverpools and arsenal. we know from experience that patterns take time to perfect, no more excuses for a lack of patience. thanks!

A game at a time? 5-9 changes most matches says they are focusing on more than one match at a time.

what's our points per game when we've made 5-9 changes? maybe we're picking the best/freshest players for each opposition?

Happy to agree to differ. We have every advantage going, not least premium players. Most other teams would kill for a £130m+ squad. Our current first XI includes the following; Walton c.4 years Davis c.4 years O'Shea 18 months Taylor c.3 years Philogene c. 1 year Hirst c.2.5 years Clarke c.1 year A good and settled base to work from. No more excuses please.

"to work from", i'd agree with that, so not the finished article like us in '24 or cov now. no excuses for not having patience with all the experience we've had. no excuses for dismissing context and reason as "excuses" either!
