Man if we’d just had a bit more belief and energy, we win that at a canter 14:55 - Dec 26 with 492 viewsunstableblue

I do think Millwall set up well, he’s a good manager.

But there was 3 points for the taking today. And we just didn’t commit ourselves enough - more fizz, more belief, more hunger.

Very frustrating.

Was it me or was the pitch long? Ball seemed to roll slowly.

He’d watched our Boxing Day clash with his son

And it was like I’d watched a different game

They felt after some early Millwall pressure/chances, we just dominated and ‘looked good’. Millwall were reduced to going very deep and scrapping it out. We just needed a centre forward - or the Egeli/Jaden chances to go in. He thought I was being too pessimistic when I gave my review.

Maybe we’re not giving the team the credit for going to Millwall at 1pm on a Boxing Day and owning the game?

I did post this on another thread, and left the game feeling quite optimistic, as did my two friends.

"Whilst the final ball was often disappointing, I thought that was probably our best away game of the season in terms of control.

Admittedly, Millwall had some chances early on but thereafter we largely dominated things."

Yes, it's easy for the realists and even the optimists amongst us to get a bit impatient with the team building this season, especially when you've got all the knicker-wetters and sixth columnists chirping away all the time. An objective look at our stats and our performances says that we're a very solid team at the back and through the middle, but have yet to get on a roll with dominating performance by our forward line (even if we are third highest scorers.)

The extra pressure of expectation has weighed heavily, but look where we are - poised for a crack at second and possibly top with a whole half season to go.
