Now if seems that almost all songs are repeated in every ground around the country. "Do - do - do, Football in a library" must be the most awful song sung in grounds currently, but every away support sings it at every single game all season long.

Especially in the pre-social media days when it was harder to cheat or copy. Take us for example. The “Uhlenbeek running down the wing…”. Who thought of those lyrics, how did it spread organically? Or even further back, and not one of ours. who first sang “here we go”? * now I think about it, was the Uhlenbeek song a ripoff of a Ryan Giggs chant?

erm yes it was :D stuff like that helped though that the player was an absolute demon running down the wing, there were times he didnt even know how to stop running and just carried on off the pitch. It wouldnt fit to any of the current squad. Im not sure its one to be proud of but didnt we lay claim to being the first to use Shampoos Trouble as a football song once or twice. but thats the thing most of the songs came from toonz in the hit parade that were catchy and had easily replaceable lyrics like Boncho, Boncho, Boncho etc etc. try singing anything from the top40 thesedays as a football chant.

Yes, Gus’ song was a copy of Ryan Giggs’. Shampoo was an ITFC original (QPR away, 1994), as was Bontcho’s 2 Unlimited tune (Leeds away 1993). Seem to think “You’re not very good” was also an ITFC original as well (Wolves away 1995).
