A proper football man. Saw him play at Portman Road a few times for Liverpool.

It certainly is, and only 74, not as much older than me as I would have thought.

Hope he gets the best treatment. The word legend is overused in football but is definitely appropriate for Keegan.

It's 106 miles to Portman Road, we've got a full tank of gas, half a round of Port Salut, it's dark... and we're wearing blue tinted sunglasses.
Poll: Which recent triallist should we have signed?

Hopefully he’s going to be ok.

I was too young to have watched him but his Newcastle teams in the
Mid nineties were a fantastic watch.

Brave, feisty, and skilful, part of a period where the national team , despite having great players, missed out on 2 world cups. Got a bit of game time in 82’ tournament, but then Bobby took over and had a clear out, which didn’t please him, but as a manager later on he finally understood. Inspirational to me as a short midfielder! The perm, the Brut ad’, the Superstars bike crash, Charity Shield 74’, all iconic! Think Mick Mills bought an Old English sheep dog off him? Get well Kev.

That Superstars bike crash simply wouldn't be allowed to happen in the modern game.

Irecall him playing for liverpool against us in the mid 70's and when he came off at half time I believe he was told his father had passed away but he still came out for the second half. I'm sure that was the sequence of events.

The ther time I remember him at Portman Road was when he brought his Newcaste team and we beat them 3-2.
