I'm always surprised at his age when I read it. He has established himself as a good quality Championship defender (with a couple of Prem appearances under his belt already). We also have Elkan Baggot, one year younger and not as far developed yet. Jacob Greaves, one year older and Dara O'Shea two years older. We actually have ourselves in a great position with defenders coming through, with a very talented Kipré in his prime at 29, plus a class act in Ashley Young to help them up their games.
We must not forget the assets we have here, and I really hope we do all we can to keep Clarke at the club for his peak years. I do fear, however, that he will move on for more football time, as he is definitely down the pecking order. |  |
