Is this a new thing?

We are also, I think, second only to Coventry in terms of goals scored. We need to improve our chance taking ratio but we're hardly in a goal drought

Yep.

I don't think Hirst has played to his level this year but he has been nowhere near as bad as some have made out. Azon I think is a very sound footballer who just struggles to take chances but I do feel he offers something to the game. If a guy like Callum Wilson is available, I think that would be a great pickup. Otherwise I don't want to be breaking the bank on a striker who isn't good enough.

My take on his post, and the replies from similar hystericals, is how do they know what is going on behind the scenes? The implication is that Ashton is sitting there twiddling his thumbs, and his staff are nervously drawing straws for the job of telling him it's the middle of January.

He might be on the phone to someone's agent as I type this.

It does feel some fans want someone in INSTANTLY the window opens - doesn't matter who it is - instead of taking the time to get the right player in.

We signed Kieffer Moore right at the end of the Championship promotion season window. That didn't work out too bad.

Getting the right player(s) in is the main most important thing. I think KM has alluded to that fact and said we won't just get people in for the sake of it. But I do have slight reservations on that statement and although a manager will never be 100% spot on with his purchases I do feel that this window is so very important,
Too many games where we completely dominate with 70% of the play. 30 shots on goal and only win by the odd goal. Not saying we go gung-ho for the second goal but bad finishing has been our achilles heal and whilst it will no doubt be pointed out to me that we are third we are still in desperate need of that final part of the jigsaw where currently we go to pieces in the box, so to speak.

No doubt a few things are happening behind the scenes, but it might just be worth pointing out, given the need for a proper goalscoring no9 is fairly urgent. If we didn't sign one until 1/2 February this time, that would mean at least another 5 league matches going by without one ( I'm including Portsmouth on 3rd Feb ). Certainly not me bedwetting, just pointing out a fact.

Finding that striker is tough loads of teams want the same.

my interpretation of the phrase bed wetting, aside from the obvious, would be a full toys being chucked from the pram sort of situation. a single tweet which appears harmless, calm, and maybe along the lines of what many of us are thinking, seems miles off bed wetting.
