So pleased for him. He is as dangerous as ever; I had horrible feeling that we wouldn’t see him like that again.

Great to see you back Wes.

We are just a miles better team with him down the right. He is so powerful and direct. He must surely be first choice in that position now.

He looks sharper than ever - a massive credit to all concerned.

We have the worst tackles in the division by a country mile, and it’s not because we massively dominate possession .., we’ve missed his pressing SO much, we don’t win the ball back in key areas like we used to, hopefully he’ll help with that.

Absolutely agree but I think the reason for this is he's a right footed player playing on the right side which is a joy to watch and something we've not had massively this season

We tend to use a right footed player on the right and left footed on the right cutting inside which I get BUT how good is it to see a player get to the line and cut it back for change !!

I'm sure SWE has done it more than I remember but the only real occasion I remember him doing it to effect was QPR away and our first goal

It's good to see a different style of attack too

Couldn't agree more.

The difference with Burns in the team by USA 30 Dec 2025 14:48
Is that he had a first time shot!!

A threat from the right, he arrives into the box with perfect timing, and he shoots. No check back, no attempt to get it onto his left. Didn’t try and walk the ball into the net by playing back across goal. He simply hit it.

This post is not meant to be negative about any other player at all, but it’s highlights the additional threat we have when we play a right footer on the right wing. You cannot knock Philogene or Clarke on the left, or Egeli on the right, but only have players that cut it every single time makes it easier to defend. Burns playing will stretch defences more and open up more space for others I think.(Some might say tearing defences apart, again!)

Love to see it!!
