Watching Szmodics toil in the 10 and Walle-Egeli is lost. 17:28 - Jan 24 with 674 viewscbower

I keep hearing he played as a 10 for Blackburn when he won the Golden Boot. Well it must have been a different kind of 10 than the role expected by McKenna at Ipswich. At Rovers he was a striker 10, here he offers nothing as the central 10 behind the striker here. Within 5 minutes Mehmeti brought so much more in that position than Sammie did in an hour. It's painful to see a player who just can't do the role despite his 100% effort he puts in.

On another note, what has happened to the dynamic, forward thinking player we saw in Walle-Egeli? He constantly looks to not just come inside, but just turn backwards and give it to Furlong. Can't remember the last time he aggressively drove at his man. The boy looks lost, timid and bereft of confidence at times. He so needs a goal to boost him.

No Nunez and we are in trouble. We have no player like him.

As for Egeli I’m not sure when you’ve seen a dynamic forward thinking player. Had maybe 2 good games in his time here at most.

Walle-Egeli needs a spell on the bench and the role of impact sub against tiring defences. He is struggling at the minute, no doubt about it, but I think he's probably played much more football (in a fairly attritional league) than is ideal for him.

I was born underwater, I dried out in the sun. I started humping volcanoes baby, when I was too young.

Egeli got a couple of goals and has gone backwards since. He needs to play in the position his future is seen in whether that’s here or on loan elsewhere

Egeli is young and still learning the game. He'll come good eventually. The Championship is a brutal league and takes time to adjust. Szmodics for me isn't the now nor the future. I wouldn't be too unhappy to see him loaned/transferred this week.
