Looking across the pitch at our players today.... 19:21 - Jan 31 with 415 viewsBanksterDebtSlave

....I'm not seeing that physicality that we were told we were striving for in preparation for round 2 in the Premier League.

I see Neil and Anis aren’t big physical guys either, what happened to that new style of players we were supposed to be looking to get in,because they didn’t come. It’s what we desperately miss too. Other teams bully us and we aren’t up to it.?

Nothing against Mehmeti, I wish him well with us, but he is another lightweight, neat and tidy player who doesn't meet that brief. I guess that lesson of Premier physicality requirements have been unlearned.

The most physical of our signings outside of Kipre since relegation is probably Mcateer and he can't get a game. Azor shows strength, Furlong too and Walle-Egeli has the frame but doesn't yet know quite how to use it.
KM loves the technically tidy player but seems not to seek out a Shaun Derry type of midfield bruiser who can play a bit too.

For those who are old enough to remember, a certain Mr Royle once said you need ' battle hardened' players in this league. Lessons still not learnt years later I guess.

They used to say you had to 'earn the right' to play your lovely football by winning the midfield battle in the first 15-20 minutes. They are still right today.

Very true. If we were managing to get the physical profile we have talked about, we would be bullying these teams back.

Clarke is absolutely powderpuff in key moments. Watch back the goal. Its his man who scores and he does a little bump to pretend he is trying, rather than comitting to defending the situtation. First goal against Sheff U- the same with his pretend header/ challenge.

Cajuste is looking well short, unfortunately. Of agression and decision making. Mehmeti had moments but is hardly a unit. Even Azor, for all his qualities, is a little lad.

Poll: Will the US Mid terms get cancelled or "postponed"?
