Always knew Mandelson was a wrongun 18:24 - Feb 2 with 1685 viewsonceablue

You could just tell.

How he has held the power positions he has god knows

As for the royal Andrew, everyone knew he was lying through his teeth in that interview.

The poor Queen she would be turning in her grave.

I think you will find that Mandelson was very much part of the Labour Party.

Nick Candy's not. There's a whole thread here which seems to raise very real concerns about a senior figure in Reform.

Mandelson clearly is a brilliant political operator but outside that he has serious flaws much of them presumably driven by the fact that he is attracted to the wealthy lifestyle but doesn't have the means of those he mixes with.

It is his political brilliance (and this seemed to be a primary motive for appointing him US ambassador where he achieved the best deal in terms of tariffs of any country) that made the Labour Party (to its shame) carry on bringing him back into senior positions despite two resignations early on in the Blair years which should have been red flags.

You have to wonder if Labour’s Mr Fixit will be dragged into the mire. Presumably he would have pushed for Mandelson’s appointment to Washington.

Poll: Dickhead "Noun" a stupid, irritating, or ridiculous man.

The one thing the Queen never was, was poor.

She enabled him. Protected him. Paid millions to make irritating, inconvenient little women go away.

He has damaged her reputation, not by association, but by how she handled this shameful affair.

Charles has actually done more, quicker, on this than she ever did. But the sweaty nonce is still being protected from justice that anybody else (even ultra-rich, powerful, well-connected men like Cosby, Epstein and Weinstein) would have to face.

Ironically, by stripping Andrew of some of his royal privileges it now means his victims are unable to seek damages from him, as he can plead inability to pay and the royal family also now has no obligations. At least I think that’s the argument a lawyer of the victim(s) was making the other day. That’s assuming they want to sue of course. I’d be wanting him to face justice, but who could deny them the chance to also seek damages?

Poll: Do you think Pert is key to all of this?

I think that's true. But if McSweeney goes, does the whole edifice fall, and could one not envisage McSweeney himself bringing down Starmer in revenge?
