| So tonight’s game must be a ‘must win’? 08:56 - Feb 23 with 2129 views | Benters | If not why not ? I get there are plenty more games to go to achieve the top 2,but there has to come a time when even the legends on here agree that it is a must win game? [Post edited 24 Feb 11:57]

Draw and a Win on Saturday, 7 points from 4 games in Feb (including 3 away league games). That would also make it 17 from the last 9 games during 2026. Appreciate recent form is what counts today and there is some heavy lifting to secure 4 points this week to make my sums add up.

Would have been better to get something but you;re not gonna get something from every away game... But we can't go along with dropping points away to much on the road with the fixtures we have left. But 3 points tomorrow night would put us back on path

| So tomorrow’s game must be a ‘must win’? on 13:02 - Feb 23 by SuffolkPunchFC | There's also another way to look at this, which I think people are overlooking. If we were (however unlikely it is) to win the rest of our games, we will be promoted. That could be construed to make it a must win - but it's without context. Where we inevitably drop points, we need to match Middlesbrough's results, beat them at Portman Road and win our games in hand. If we do this, we are promoted. No-one could do anything about it. It also keep the pressure on Boro. None of that is easy, but it remains in our hands. By the end of Wednesday, the task ahead of us may be easier - or it may be out of our hands (until the next set of games reset everything). Which is why right now it really is 'each game as it comes', and we re-evaluate our position after each result. |
Both of the top 2 will drop points between now & the end of the season. But we can't discount either Millwall or Hull going on a real roll. We just need to improve our consistency, especially away from home. And coupled with our inability to recover from setbacks, I would bet against Town making the top 2 right now. Shipping 5 goals at Wrexham & losing a game from a 3-2 lead was a real confidence sapper. However, win at Watford & then win the 3 home games coming up & we'll feel much more positive. I was targeting 1 win out of Watford & wrexham away, so we need it tomorrow night.

Our away form might be mid table but our home form has been promotion form. If that home form dips then top 2 chances will fade away
