So tonight has really made me realise how fractured society is at the moment, and how that impacts supporting a football club. People are either right or wrong, happy clappers or bedwetters, positive trolls or negative trolls. Life is shades of grey, not black and white. Why has social media pushed us into this tribal mentality? I love my football club. I get frustrated when we lose, and I love it when we win. Neither outcome affects my life as a whole. I don't get angry, or feel the need to spit bile at players lacking confidence. Why don't we as "supporters" of our club, just get behind these people and encourage them to do the best they possibly can for our club? I've been going to games since the mid eighties. These times are amongst the best of times. Embrace it. If we stumble, it's not the end of the world. Ultimately, we all the want the same outcome. I said to my boy 2 years ago, "This isn't normal. Remember this." Now it seems like everyone wants the "this isn't normal" all the time. [Post edited 25 Feb 7:27]
