Maybe we can all calm down now… 06:37 - Feb 25 with 589 viewsITFC_Forever

A nice solid and deserved away win last night, if not spectacular it was exactly what we needed.

Maybe I’m over-analysing it, but I thought the celebrations were a bit muted from the players at the end, almost like they were wary of the away following after the OTT vitriol on Saturday.

Hirst deserved a goal, even though he didn’t seem to know much about it… the shot he had with others well-placed soon after was almost worth the gamble as had that gone in, his confidence would have have been sky high again and we might just have started to see the best of him again.

Neil and Azor covered the midfield and gave us a solid platform and the defence looked largely secure although not without a couple of nervy moments.

Very crucial penalty save from Walton at an important time, and again, showed what he’s really about after the wobbly game at Wrexham.

All that and home by 12.30. Better get up for work now.

Agree re celebrations but that's been a theme most games. I want to see more passion!

I said much the same about the celebrations. They almost had a huddle like conversation before they came over, I think McKenna may have said keep it calm, work to do etc. Fair.

Great reception for Hirst when he came on. by SitfcB 24 Feb 22:26
Good encouraging cheers and his song sung, how it should be, well done all.

He needed that sort of goal.

Nice little win that, seemed quite simple for us really. Good to get the clean sheet as well after Saturdays defensive disaster no matter how hard Furlong tried [rofl]

No big reaction/celebrations from McKenna or the players, which is good as not needed as yet, it’s business time.

Part of that was an attempt to get Walle Egeli to do the fist-pumps, but he really didn't want to.

Good Lord! Whatever is it?

He seems quite a quiet lad, not sure he’s one for fisting.

Glad see to see Walton get the opportunity to do so though, he deserved it after the penalty save, the one near the end and his general performance level this season.
