Favourite episode? Got to be 'Marooned' for me. A virtual two-hander between Lister and Rimmer, all in one room. Not a single wasted line, and the payoff is perfect.

My favourite episode is possibly the time travel one where they went back to Dallas Texas to shoot Kennedy from the grassy knoll having previously gone back and distracted Lee Harvey Oswald

I wouldn't know in the RD canon where it was

I do know the earlier the episodes generally the better they were, and after a while I kind of stopped watching. The early episodes had an edge to them that slowly seemed to be blunted

It was one after Rob Grant had left so wasn't co written by him!
