Does this mean his contract has finally come to an end? Marcus Evans must be relieved!

I'll never forget the absolute bemusement I felt when Lambert's contract was renewed, one of the weirdest things I've ever seen happen at ITFC.

Probably the single worst decision that ME ever made, which is quite an impressive achievement, if you think about it.

I'm still astonished at the inexplicable levels of popularity Lambert enjoyed here, even when he getting us relegated without a whimper.

I'm one of the people who was blamed for getting Paul Cook sacked. PM for the full post.

Agreed. I can only assume the logic was about player power, perhaps he thought the players might be less likely to down tools if he came out with such a statement in favour of Lambert. Very odd though, while the league position was still healthy enough at the time (IIRC) we weren’t playing well, hadn’t been for most of the season, and were in poor form.

Evans got what he deserved really, horrible mismanagement of the club from top to bottom, honking managerial appointments for the most part and questionable deployment of funds especially in his earlier days.
