They had Truro away on Saturday, that’s some double header.

They’re in the same league, so makes more sense than them playing Newcastle?

They are a full-time professional team (not part time) playing in a National League and the game was originally scheduled for a Saturday but postponed due to a waterlogged pitch so could only be rearranged for a midweek date

Makes absolute sense.

Never forget that in April 2021, for ITFC, the Game Changed.

In one where we don’t give a feck about the carbon footprint of football?

Would a regionalised National League not make more sense, though? Can’t imagine the economics make sense any more than they do higher up the pyramid. A lot of wealthy folks setting fire to money.

Their 19 travelling fans just saw them lose in the 94th minute, ouch.

Before I was old enough to make my way to Portman Road, as a boy, I watched my local team in the Southern League which with the Northern Premier League were the 2 leagues at the level outside the Football League. Just 47 years ago a single national league was formed from teams in those leagues. They're not going to go back. Most of the current National League are full time so it's just a few extra miles on the coach.

They should follow the example of the likes of ITFC and hire a plane. They're not far from Stansted.

Of the 16 Braintree fans that went to Truro, several did fly to Newquay (I assume) from Stansted.

Looks like they took even more to Gateshead, that's dedication.

Well done them. I think that it is one of the glories of our game in this country that we have 112 of our clubs, almost all full time professional, playing in our national leagues. Don't think anywhere else can say that.
