This is a totally out of left field post that’s more to myself I guess… Talking about Arsenal on here the other day and their style of play reminded me of another thread,the one discussing Halo moving into the Willis glass building in Ipswich.
I searched and found the thread but I think there must have been two as I’m sure there was a post about how strong the glass was .. it is but the only thing that broke it was those lovely Arsenal “fans” it was ‘82,’83 or ‘84 can’t quite narrow it down further although I think it was a 1-0 result in all honesty one way or t’other so 82 or 83 ?
I’d actually forgotten the Arse had a reputation in the hooligan era .. it really was the dark ages in that period with half full stadiums and whispering that you liked football.. how times have changed. |  |

I remember that match. Being in the car as me and my dad drove down the road past the Willis Faber. My dad suddenly told me to get down as low as I could. Town fans one side of the road. Arsenal on the other. Rocks flying over the cars.
Luckily we avoided being hit, and the Maxi survived.
