Why is it puzzling that a country with the ability to control its entire media and internet access might release propaganda and misinformation? Iran are clearly trying to give the impression on ‘winning’ this conflict to deter further protests.

Most likely he was in a bunker somewhere (as with often the case with Vlad), or had some kind of medical treatment. There hasn’t been material success for Iranian attacks on Israel so clearly Iran are looking to spread misinformation to bolster their domestic‘credibility’. Not that I’m particularly pleased for his continued presence, but fake news should really be called out regardless.

I agree, those like Putin and Netanyahu are masters of deception and deflection but ultimately cowards. Like most authoritarians, they hide while their people are massacred.
I can't think of any other world leader who has just disappeared in a war, especially in one they manipulated into existence in the first place.

There’s plenty of information as far as I’m concerned, other than Iran where foreign journalists aren’t allowed to report, and internet access has been restricted. Virtually every significant piece of infrastructure that’s been hit across the region has been reported outside of Iran. Given the number of nations involved there’s far more information than from Ukraine.
