receive the busby email
investigate the email themselves, speedily finding a camera angle that showed the situation clearly
make contact with three separate individuals, who all apparently found it easy to all agree the same thing with not one of them disagreeing, and again seeing this apparent easy footage
to then be in a position to charge Davis, all in 1 day.

It took attention away from a poor performance by the referee.
I think it sets a bad precedent that needs to be shut off before next season starts. No way should a referee, under pressure for a poor performance, be allowed to watch a video of a match looking for things he missed before he submits his match report. It clearly wasn’t a clear and obvious error and I doubt of VAR would have done anything other than to highlight that both players could have received yellow cards. |  |
