No sign anywhere that I could see, (or hear), anyway of any Anti-Ashton sentiment. If anything the ground actually came together for once to cheer the boys home, the chorus of, "When the town go marching in”, at the end of the first half was amazing
We were sloppy in possession second half, just couldn't seem to string two passes together but what a defensive performance and great to see McKenna get Kipre on instead of going like for like. It made the difference.
McAteer - What a performance, should have scored more that one though, but what a ball from Hirst for the assist too. However, George has still got that trampoline on his boot from time to time. But, he coped admirably with their number 5 who seemed to want to switch shirts early.
We really missed Leif today. And Matusiwa in the 2nd half.
Talksport reckon we only played well for 15 minutes, and their disallowed goal is 'evidence' that VAR is needed in the Championship, with no mention of how with teams in the league haemorrhaging that much money how they pay for it.

Nothing to suggest the event during the international break was any more of a storm in a tea cup than most of us thought it would be. I couldn't see any empty seat so the stay away protest was probably less than 5% of the fan base (if that) |  | | |

Was disappointed, but not surprised, at the groaning and vitriol towards O'Shea and Hirst in particular that quickly started to gather pace near me at 0-1. Especially after all the chest-thumping 'support our lads' type demands we had seen so many of leading up to the game.
Fortunately, we equalised quickly enough that they disappeared again before they were able to risk derailing the team. |  | | |
