IMO Delap made a move based on short-term. CL qualification, club World Cup and all that.
My reasoning behind a Man U move is more than just form and short term aspirations.
I live in South east Asia. Man U are a religion! not a football club. As they are in many parts of the world. The possibility (I say ‘possibility’) of success at Man U makes you a global superstar. Let’s face it, All the players were awful under Amorim. I think he might now be shining again.
Chelsea are a big club no doubt - but dwarfed worldwide by Man U.
Chelsea are a bit of a “so what?”
O’Hara on talk sport is right when he tells Cundy no one cares about Chelsea. Not really (shrugs). The world cares about Man U.

He should go where his career has the best chance of development, not for the limelight and cash. If, as he should have done first time round, joins Everton and stays there for 5-6 years, he will have more money than he will ever need, but be at a club where he is likely to start every week.
