If we'd have played them as originally scheduled - mid-season with most of their first XI out - it could well have been a very different game. Instead we play them in April, with them going all guns blazing to survive, in a febrile atmosphere. We should have been beating them regardless, but Pompey managed to stack the deck in their favour. The rules on (multiple) postponements at this level definitely need looking at. |  |
